With students from over 100 countries around the world, Richmond provides an opportunity for multicultural friendship and intercultural exchange. Richmond faculty are committed to the learning needs of the students who are typically taught in a small class environment. They provide students with an international curriculum which includes academic subjects and intercultural learning. Richmond’s distinctions include dual accreditation in both the USA and the United Kingdom. University emphasizes the best of both the US and UK systems of education: the US focus on the liberal arts and the British system of specialization. Students currently are mainly from North America/Caribbean, Europe, UK, Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.

American and British Accreditation

Richmond, the American International University in London holds independent accreditation from three separate agencies. The university has earned US accreditation from The Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Richmond is approved by The Open University as an appropriate organization to offer higher education programs leading to Open University Validated Awards. Richmond has also undergone a successful full institutional review by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

Richmond remains the only American University in the UK which is a member of The Association of American International Colleges & Universities (AAICU).

Richmond’s strengths are:

1. Dual US/UK Degree: At Richmond, students will qualify simultaneously for both an American (MSCHE) and a UK degree (OUVS), qualifications which are recognized and respected by employers and graduate schools worldwide.

2. Small class sizes and high contact hours: Average class sizes are 17 students per class, with at least 15 taught hours per week.

3. Study abroad: Students have the opportunity to spend a semester or year in the US or at our study centres in Florence and Rome

4. Internships: Upper Division students that have gained 75 credits and meet the minimum GPA requirements of the programme are guaranteed an internship as a part of their programme. Students may also undertake international Internships across Africa, Asia, Europe and the US.

5. Top London Location: First and second year students are based at our leafy suburban Richmond Campus and Upper Division students progress to Kensington which is at the heart of Central London.

London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom.
